Email delivery problems

Sometimes Atomic Mail Sender cannot be configured automatically and email cannot go through. In this case, you need to help it. You can see the list of typical failures to send email below:

  1. Firewall, antispam and antivirus
This software can prevent Atomic Mail Sender from accessing the Internet. You need to create a new rule for Atomic Mail Sender to allow it to access the Internet (it needs open SMTP and DNS ports).

  2. Wrong or fake FROM address
If you specify a fake email address or specify no e-mail address in Message Properties, some email servers may reject mail from you.

  3. Disabled SMTP port (port #25)
Some Internet Service Providers deny direct access to all mail servers excluding their own and request you to send all messages through their mail server only. Atomic Mail Sender allows you to bypass it. You can either use a socks/proxy server (see Common Settings for more info) or send all mail via the ISP's SMTP server (you can find this option in Common Settings too).

  4. Email message is sent, but never received

  5. Messages are not sent from Atomic Mail Sender

Email delivery reports

Atomic Mail Sender provides reports of various types about the status of messages delivery:

  • Individual reports
You can see a report for an individual email address if you double-click it. It will open a new dialog box with the report.

    SMTP Log window

  • Bulk reports
Click the Reports button in the Send Mail Monitor to see the bulk reporting options. You can create a report with different email delivery statuses. For example, you can save the list of addresses with email delivery failures or the list of unsent messages.

  • Stored reports
Atomic Mail Sender also keeps reports about sucessfully sent newsletters. To find them out, use Service / View Reports.

  • Tracking sent messages
Atomic Mail Sender allows you to track who opens and reads messages and who clicks links in your messages. It is an additional service that can be integrated with any software. See more info about email tracking here.
